Editing & Music

Today we were working on editing our film which went pretty well. We have also added the music to it and edit it out and we also used some scary red & white font for the credits which come on the screen along with the movie. The video bellow is our distribution company 'Lionsgate' which we will put at the intro of our movie.
Hopefully we will officially finish editing our movie 'Justified Sins' on Wednesday.

New Location


Abandoned Church- A huge place with not a lot of lightning, we have decided to use this place as the location where the victim has been captured by the Psychopath killer and to also shoot the victim's scenes along with her death scene as well. This church looked pretty abandoned and freaky as well, this is a perfect setting for a killing to take place.
Outside/Grave yard/forest- a scary looking field where we decided the victim's brother will run across a forest, graves and grass in attempt to save his missing sister (victim).

We thought it sounds good enough to go with our film, so we decided this is going to be our official title.
S.A.N.G Line Pictures its definitely still our Production Company's name :D

Well the only person who had their costume changed its Sam.
As Sam is no longer a detective in this movie and hes the Victim's brother we decided that he should wear normal casual teenage clothes-black skinny jeans, casual grey top & skate shoes.

Samuel Banks- a young male teenager who is desperately looking for his younger sister, who most of the people believe she has been kidnapped by a Psychopath that no one knows who this is.

Aletta Vaida- a young female teenager who has been kidnapped a very long time ago by a Psychopath who is torturing her. She is still somehow hoping her older brother, Sam will one day find her and get her safe out of that miserable place.

Well today there have been a lot of changes, and nothing went the way we planned it so far.

Our movie genre is not much of a horror any more and is more of a thriller, the new title to our film now is 'Justified Sins' and its about a brother (Sam) looking for his long time disappeared sister (Aletta) whom he believes has been raped by a Psychopath,that no one knows who this is. Our movie is set in the abandoned grave yard and old church in Kingswood Center. The clothes Aletta & Sam are wearing are typical casual teenage clothes. Aletta is all covered in blood to look like she has been beaten and tortured by the Psychopath. Here are a few pictures we have collected today.

Today we started filming our movie 'The Toy Box'. We have filmed all of the running man/ detectives scenes on a small green hill which is next to JCA. Monday we are going to film the rest of the scenes of the clown and tortured victim in JCA's drama studio. Here are a few pictures i have collected from Wednesday.

We have decided that this is going to be our production company logo. The name S.A.N.G stands for the first letter of our names. The bloody hand is the tortured victims as she tries to escape from the room, where as the clown is the killer person in our movie.

(Maybe this post is a bit late but im going to do it anyways ^^)
We have decided to do a a horror movie opening which can fit the age group of 16-21. Tomorrow in break I will gather a few information from some of my friends to see which horror movie is their favorite and what are their opinions on horror films.

Prop List

-Chair- This is used for the victim to be sat down. It will also show that the victim is tied up.

-Plastic Knife- Used by the killer clown (Niall) to kill the victim.

-Clown Mask- Wore by the clown Niall, so he can hide his identity.

-Chains- Used to tire up the victim.

-Flashlight- Used by the killer clown to show and hide himself.

-Children's Toys- These will be placed around the room, to make the victim panic and to give an effect to the scene. A possible non-diegetic sound of children laughing will be played. Myself and (Sam Banks) will be bringing these toys in. They will be used on the floor and possibly somewhere else in the room.

Saw 3D Opening

            The movie starts of with the well known Distributing Company Lionsgate clip/logo coming up on the screen, which cuts to a different scene which shows Twisted Pictures. The font of the title is white with a black background. The movie than starts of with a few flashbacks of the previous Saw movie, where there is a man led on the floor all covered in blood which looks like something horrible has happened. From here the camera cuts to a scene with the camera tracking a long trail of blood, where we can see that someone's half leg is led on the floor. The camera is still following the trail of blood and we can see, from what it looks like a man dragging himself on the floor with half of his leg cut off, where we can understand that something bad has happened to him.  From here it cuts to a shot which shows 'Twisted Pictures Presents' from which we learn that this is the company that produced the movie, with some blue/black background with some red dots which is meant to look like blood with some diegetic thunder effects in it. From here than it cuts back to the man dragging himself on the floor in a high angle shot, from where the camera cuts into a medium close-up of the man reaching for a hot steam pipe which looks like he is going to put his half cut leg to it so he can seal the wound.

The first 2 Minutes from 'The Haunting In Connecticut'

The movie starts of with a few credits on the screen saying that the movie has been Produced&Distributed by Lionsgate and Gold Circle Films with a black background and the text in white. In a medium close-up a picture with some old people comes up which looks like the picture was taken a very long time ago. From this scene it cuts to a different scene where we can see a lot of blood dripping, which looks like someone is making some sort of operation.Shot-reverse-shot between the bloody scenes and the old style pictures for like a minute and half. From here it shows us the title of the movie'The Haunting In Connecticut' followed by the sub title 'Based on the true story'. From here it cuts to a mid-shot of a blonde woman sat on the chair wearing a blue blouse who looks like she's going to start telling a story.

Hatchet Opening

              The movie starts of with some special thunder effects in the background with credits of the production companies 'ArieScope Pictures & High Seas Entertainment' and also in association with 'Radioaktive Film'. From here than it cuts to a dark forest with a boat which looks like two people are sat in it, fishing. From here it cuts into a mid shot of an old man dressed casually smoking his pipe. From here it cuts into an over the shoulder shot with a middle aged man dressed casually in a mid shot looking bored with a glass of beer in his hand. The middle aged man starts moaning that he wants to go home because its too cold out there, the older man says he is not moving from there until he gets what he wants modern representation of older people thinking they are always right. Shot reverse shot back on the middle aged man, looking bored once again. All of a sudden a non diegetic sound comes on while something just moved in the water, the two men jump up in a two shot both looking frightened into the water. Nothing happens, and the two men decide to sit back down into the boat. The scene ends in a two shot with the two men sat in the boat drinking.

Psycho Clown- played by Niall Corish.
For the costume and make-up were going to use a clown costume and a freaky clown mask. The Clowns amusement is every body else's biggest fear: death.
Tortured Victim- played by Aletta Vaida.
For costume we have chose her typical teenage clothes because the victim is meant to look like she has been raped, so the clothes she will be wearing are a casual white top with black leggins and ugg boots. The Victim has a lot of bruises all over the arms with a few cuts and a lot of blood all over her to look like she has been beaten. The top is riped and all covered  in blood. The girl is led on the floor looking confused after waking up in a strange place shocked about all the random freaky toys around her, she starts screaming for help but no body seems to give her a reply.

Running Person/Detective- played by Samuel Banks.

For the costume Sam is going to wear typical smart clothes; a nice white shirt with tie and black smart trousers . Sam's role this movie is that he is looking for a girl which dissapeared a very long time ago and no body knows where or how.

Film Genres

Today we have looked at our genre style films:Horror/Thriller

We have looked at The Exorcist(1973), which didn't really helped us as the opening scene was very boring and didn't really made sense with what we want to do. Then i went on youtube, to have a look at Friday The 13th (2009) at the opening scene, which was really good and had some violence in it. Also I went on to have a look at My Bloody Valentine (2008) which had a really scary non-diegetic music at the opening scene.Later on I went to have a look at 'The Exorcism Of Emily Rose' which had a quite scary opening scene with non- diegetic music and a really a really spooky setting. And finally I had a look at 'Tormented', a typical teenage film where revenge is taken  on the school bullies.At the end I have decided that the three movies I am going to analyze are : Saw 3D,The Haunting In Connecticut & Hatchet. I have choose these three movies because they have a lot of killing and gore in it, similar to the movie me and my friends are planning to produce.
